Sunday Verses From The Heart

Happy Father's Day! Yes, I'm wishing a Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful fathers out there, but most importantly, to the Holy Father, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are ALL so lucky that no matter who we are, we have a loving Father in Jesus by our sides to love us, guide us, comfort us, and keep us safe.

I recently started a new devotional called New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp and I can't tell you how much closer I feel to the Lord already just by taking time each morning and spending it with my spiritual Father. It has made my days clearer, made me thirst for more and made my soul cleaner. I've been praying for God to work with me on my day-to-day Bible studies, and He opened this door for me and has led me in this wonderful direction. That's love, and that's what Father's do.

And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, say the Lord Almighty.
— 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Chris, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with is pleasure and will - to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves.
— Ephesians 1:3-6 (NIV)

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
— 1 John 3:1 (NIV)

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
— Psalm 103:13 (NIV)

The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.
— Proverbs 23:24 (NIV)
