Kim's Fab TV Guide - Upcoming Shows

Kim's Fab TV Guide - Upcoming Shows

Let’s finish up our Fall TV Guide and talk about the shows premiering mid-October and on which are all available for viewing on every platform you can think of…

Let’s get started!

OCT. 16th

Limetown on Facebook Watch: First off, I’m intrigued by watching a show on Facebook with legit actors in it… secondly this show sounds VERY interesting. a show based off a podcast (sold). The premise is that 10 years ago, 326 men, women, and children vanished from Limetown - a research facility in the heart of rural Tennessee. It seems like it has the vibe of The Leftovers (although I still need to finish that show), where there were no witnesses, clues or survivors. What I’m most curious about is me logging onto Facebook to watch a show… we’ll see how that goes.

Looking for Alaska on Hulu: I honestly have no idea what this show is about, but when I read the synopsis, it said “boarding school” “unexpected tragedy” and “friends try to make sense of2” sooo that sold me. It’s probably some teenage drama, but I’m down! haha

Modern Love on Amazon Prime Video: This cast is EVERYTHING. This show is inspired by a real-life personal essay from the New York Times column “Modern Love.” Each story is so unique and share the joys and hardships of love. I can’t wait to see how each story unfolds.

Living With Yourself on Netflix: Who doesn’t love Paul Rudd, honestly? Basically Paul Rudd’s character undergoes a spa treatment and wakes up to find out he’s been replaced by a BETTER version of himself, sooooo you could only imagine what craziness will ensue.

Catherine the Great on HBO at 10pm (Miniseries): First of all, can we talk about how amazing Helen Mirren looks as Catherine the Great!? OMG. There’s not much to say, but sit back and see Helen kick some butt as Catherine the Great.

The Misery Index on TBS: I can’t begin to tell you how much I adore Jameela Jamil. She got her first acting gig on The Good Place, yes, FIRST! And, what I love even more about her is that she does her own makeup - on set, for awards shows, you name it! She’s also SO incredibly funny, so I think this new show will be perfect! She did a couple spots on Jane Lynch’s Hollywood Game Night and I couldn’t stop laughing! She revealed later on that during one episode she had Pneumonia, but really wanted to be there, so she downed some medicine - but it ended up being her nighttime DROWSY medication and that’s why was acting so loopy! Like I cannot deal! Jameel + The Impractical Jokers is pure gold.

Daybreak on Netflix: From my understanding, it sounds like this is going to be a teenage version of The Walking Dead with a little teenage love element thrown in there. Here are a few things to note:

  1. It’s not a cartoon

  2. Matthew Broderick stars in it

  3. It’s setting is post-apocalyptic Glendale, CA, which means we might see some Armo zombie action! haha

Mrs. Fletcher on HBO at 10:30pm: Kathryn Hahn is comedic perfection. This show is based off a best-selling novel about a single mother whose son moved out for college and is forced to begin a new life on her own and find out exactly how to navigate that new life. I can’t wait to see what she does in this role.

NOV 1st

The Morning Show on Apple TV+ - Jen + Reese + Steve = Delicious Television. Firstly, I’m super curious about the new Apple TV+ viewing platform and how that’s all going to go down. I’m assuming for us folks that DON’T have an actual Apple TV, they’ll offer this as a downloadable app? Fingers crossed, because there are some great shows coming down the pipeline… but I digress..

I can’t wait to see Jennifer Aniston back on TV and alongside Reese Witherspoon who is killing it in the TV category, not only acting, but producing and creating! Of course Steve Carell is pure joy to watch in any genre, so I’m excited to see all three collab together.

See on Apple TV+ - You guys… Khal Drogo is back! …ok not really, but Jason Mamoa is back on television playing a warrior-like character and I’m here for it! This show has had me super intrigued from the second I started watching the trailer and I’m excited. From the director of The Hunger Games, you know it’s going to keep you on the edge of your seat!

Dickinson on Apple TV+ - A modern take on the classic story of Emily Dickinson. When you watch the trailer it’s a bit confusing because you ask yourself “Is this supposed to be a period piece? If so, why are they talking so modern?” I guess that’s the whole point of the show, so we’ll just have to see how it works. I like Hailee Steinfeld, so I’m going to give it a shot!

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Netflix (Season 2) - John Krasinski is back playing CIA analyst Jack Ryan and I couldn’t be more excited for another binge sesh of this show! Did you guys watch last season? It was so good and I’ve been patiently waiting for season two. John Krasinski is a treasure.

Queer Eye: We’re in Japan! on Netflix (Season 6) - The'y’re back, but in JAPAN!!! Omg, I cannot even wait to see what the heck they do!! I feel like this has been so top secret, so we’ll just have to wait patiently!

NOV 10th

Rick and Morty on Adult Swim at 11:30pm (Season 4) - NSFC and NSFW truly. BUT, it’s SO dang funny! If you were a Community fan (the show) it’s by the same creator, Dan Harmon. You like it, or you hate it. Simple as that!

NOV 17th

The Crown on Netflix (Season 4) - I just started season three and told myself I had until the 17th to finish so I can watch the season four premiere! This show is SO good and GORGEOUS!! Honestly, I want my dad to watch this show (mostly season one) because he is such a Winston Churchill fan and John Lithgow is unreal in this role.

I can’t wait to see how season four and even season five play out because yes… they will be introducing Princess Diana soon! Eek! I can’t wait!

So there you have it! Every show that I think you should be checking out or at least watch the trailer to see if it sparks some interest! I hope you enjoyed this Fall TV Guide because like I said, it’s one of my favorite times of the year! We’re truly living in the golden age of television and it’s FABULOUS!!
